Polystyrene (abbreviation : SB) is an engineering plastic (thermoplastic) that is very easy to process and, at 1.05 g/cm³, has a relatively low weight. The moisture absorption of polysterol is 0.1%, the modulus of elasticity is a relatively low 1,700 N/mm², although the plastic gives a very hard subjective impression, and the material allows a very high surface finish.

We offer extruded polystyrene sheets with thicknesses up to 120 mm without shrinkage and with low stress, due to the production process, as well as cut-to-size and shaped parts (milled parts, turned parts). An advantage of these large sheet thicknesses up to 120 mm is that it is not necessary to glue many thin extruded polystyrene sheets to one thick sheet to achieve the desired thickness for the component, as is sometimes the case.

Standard colors of polystyrene semi-finished products are white, gray and black. Special colors are possible with corresponding minimum quantities from approx. 2,000 – 3,000 kg.
